Message definition (Basic editing)
# Make a time selection, say from bar 5 to bar 9 and ensure you are at the top of the track list.
# Then press control shift plus A to select all of the items within the time selection. Say 4 items were selected.
# then press shift S to split them, you should hear a higher number of  items have been added, for instance, 7 or  9.
# Immediately press control G to add the newly split items to a group
# Immediately press control c to copy them, then move the cursor to where you want to paste, then press control v to paste them.
